The combination of my love of the beautiful Sunshine Coast, passion for helping clients make the right decision in their move, and my own extensive experience buying and selling real estate, has inspired me to establish Home Scouts.
The Sunshine Coast has been a home for me for over 30 years – from a holiday place at Noosa when I was young, to my family moving to the southern part of the Coast when I was a teenager, and ultimately myself moving here 10 years ago. I’ve explored different parts of the coast at many different stages through my life, and now I love enjoying the coastal lifestyle with my husband and two children.
Why I established Home Scouts
I started this business around 5 years ago. Prior to COVID, there were very few buyers’ agents on the Sunshine Coast, and it seemed like a perfect opportunity. I could see a gap in the market for helping clients who needed on-the-ground local experience and advice to support their Sunshine Coast purchase.
I also felt it was the perfect role for me personally as it combined both my professional and personal experience in the broader property sector (and on the Sunshine Coast) over many years.
I’d worked for over 15 years in mostly large professional services firms with a property focus, so had built a really good understanding of both consulting generally as well as property in the broader context. I’d also grown up in a family of town planners and architects, so that was always talked about around the family dinner table and contributed to me buying properties from my early 20s!
In addition, having lived permanently on the Sunshine Coast for the past 12 years meant my deep knowledge of the region could help clients who perhaps weren’t as familiar with various locational pockets across this beautiful part of the world.
What I love most about my role as a buyers agent
What I love most about is achieving outcomes for clients that they couldn’t necessarily achieve themselves – whether it be they aren’t experienced in purchasing property, aren’t based here, don’t have the time, lack local knowledge or don’t have the confidence to make the right purchase.
The shared excitement of finding and then securing their ideal property (and for those who are relocating, hearing the joy of becoming a Sunshine Coast local) is honestly hard to beat – it makes all the hard work worth it to have made that next chapter happen for them.
